This guide collates rules arising during play, to enable their review (some time) and to record any agreed rule terminations.
It aims for future freedom to avoid music match links being unexpectedly called as 'not ok' and hopefully will evolve into an even more simple guide.

General
1 Music title then artist/band/name
2 Official releases, not bootleg, not live only.
3 Check titles and artist spellings before posting; research if needed.
4 Be imaginative and avoid the obvious but avoid if totally stoned or drunk.
5 Link a different word to the last link (see guide below).
6 Another player to take a turn after a player links.
7 The 'winner' is the last person able to use a valid link. The winner may then restart using any music title - artist.

Examples of links
8 No links on inbetween words such as 'I', 'a', 'the', 'is', 'and' or similar.
9 No Splitting of abbreviations (loses root words) except links to a clear full digital numeric.
10 Numbers can be linked if pronounced same, e.g. 'L7' to '7' or to 'seven'. 'The Who - 5:15' to Bowie's 'TVC15' is not ok because the complete number appears as 15 but pronunciation differs "Five Fifteen" to "Tee Vee Cee One Five").

11 It's ok to build on a root word/name if not losing the root word, not creating unrelated or completely differently sounding words.
OK - Funky to Funkadelic / Kitty to Kittie / Sam to Samson / New to News / Trashed to Trash or Trashing
Not ok - Hollies to Hollywood / kids to skids / we to weston

12 It's ok to link to a keyword extracted from a longer word (but not from a surname-word) provided that
the longer word is a complete word after the extraction, also the extracted word to remain unchanged when linking.
OK - moonlight to moon or to light
Not ok - Threesome to Something / Generation to Gene Simmons / Killed to led / Marilyn Manson to man or son / Trashed to shed

13 Some previous other likely deletable guidance items.
Elton John or other tossers is allowed. / The song Eloise is ok. / wormboy to boy or to worm is OK
